The GREEN SLOPES project

The GREEN SLOPES project, which aims to foster sustainable ski touring and mountaineering, seeks to bridge the gap between outdoor recreation and environmental conservation through education and community engagement, while at the same time enabling participants to improve their mental and physica health. By training a new generation of ski touring and hiking guides and engaging the wider community, the project aims to promote safety, emotional awareness, sustainability and management in mountain areas. Through the acquisition of practical knowledge, the cultivation of ecological awareness and the establishment of sustainable practices, this project strives to contribute to the preservation of mountain ecosystems for future generations. The project directly contributes to the ambitious goals of the European Union in the field of environment and sustainability, encouraging a culture of responsible access to natural resources, in line with the vision of the “European Green Deal” for biodiversity conservation, sustainable development and climate change mitigation.
